We meet every Sunday at Pemberley Academy, Hodings Road, Harlow, CM20 1NW. There is ample free parking.
We start our meeting at 10am and aim to finish at around 11.30am. When you get to the Academy, look out for the smiling people with GodCentral shirts & lanyards. They will do all they can to make you feel at home with us. The main meeting takes place in the main hall.
what to expect
People begin to arrive at around 9.50am for a 10am start. As our guest we want you to feel welcome, included and at ease.
Our Sunday meeting is a fantastic time of celebration with a warm welcome, worship, preaching, and kids groups. There’s always an expectation that God will move in power.
Our meeting usually begins with everyone worshipping Jesus together. We use contemporary songs with the occasional hymn and the words are projected on the large screen. You are welcome to join in as much or as little as you are comfortable with.
Children & youth
Our children and youth are with us at the start of worship. Then parents take their children to Junior Church – which is situated in the school library adjacent to the school hall where the main meeting takes place.
Our Junior Church team will look after your child as they learn more about what it means to follow Jesus. You will need to sign your child in to junior church and then collect them once the service has finished. Our Junior Church team are all DBS checked and overseen by leaders of the church.
We also have nursing parents and tots areas situated just outside the main hall. A member of the team will happily show you where to go. Please don’t be anxious about fussy babies, we aren’t.
Bible teaching & breaking bread
Every Sunday one of our team will give a talk using passages from the Bible, it will be relevant and accessible and usually lasts 25–35 minutes. Along with sung worship the bible teaching is a foundational element of our gathering. Sometimes this is followed by breaking bread together - a moment for Christians to focus on the saving grace of Jesus - and also make space for worship and for people to receive prayer.
If you would like prayer please feel free to speak to one of our Pastoral Team - who wear lanyards so you can identify them - they would be happy to pray with you.
After the meeting
After the meeting, we serve hot and cold drinks. If you are a visitor we would love to meet you. We are an intentionally relational group of people and one of our team will come over and chat with you. They will give you a welcome card and some information about the church. If you would like to keep in touch and receive information from us please fill out the form and hand it to one of the team.
We’d be thrilled if you joined us!
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
– Matthew 19:14
Jesus loves kids and so do we! We believe you can know God from a very young age and building an excellent God focused environment for children under age 11 is one of our priorities which we’d welcome you to join us with.
Nursing Parents (ages 0 - 2)
We are fortunate to have a designated area just outside the school hall which can be used at any time. We ask parents to stay with their children. We have a live video link and the worship and preaching can be easily heard.
Tots (age 2 – Reception) & Junior Church (school years Reception - 6)
We firmly believe in establishing firm foundations for life. We have a great DBS-checked children’s team who tailor the sessions to be full of stories, games and crafts that present Jesus to children in creative, engaging ways. We’d love you to come along and join in the fun.
If you are visiting with children for the first time look out for one of our team in a GodCentral shirt and they’ll be happy to show you the Under 11’s areas and introduce you to other families.
Youth (school years 6 – 11)
GodCentral Youth currently meet every other week for Youth Alpha. Alternate Sundays they can remain in the main meeting for the talk. In addition there are other meetings outside of Sunday. Please speak to a member of the team who can point you in the right direction
In the summer holidays our youth attend a camp called Newday with around 7,000 other young people from all over the UK and Europe.
